Skala is a really lovely place, with fantastic restaurants, cafes and bakeries. The food is really reasonable and Skala is easy to get around. We got the bus up to Argostoli for the day and it was really good to go up and see there again. The buses are a bit limited this time of year but we got a taxi back and it was well worth it for a full day up there. Restaurants are excellent with plenty of choice, Flamingo our favourite, beach is long and easy to walk along. Central to visit other areas in south of island. Everywhere people friendly and welcoming.

It’s a great location.
It’s a great location. It has bars and restaurants but not big night life. Which I like. More family and friends & couples. Which makes the area even more special. No big groups of party etc. Any restaurant on the square is great. Skala has the right balance of restaurants Taverners , beaches cocktail bars and a lively dancing bar suited for older people. Places for coffee. No real negatives. Something for everyone. Air conditioning in all rooms, parking place, shower outside to get rid of sand when coming from beach, in one sentence "the perfect place to stay when in kefalonia". Beautiful view from the balcony and a very pretty beach right opposite (but down some steep steps). The hotel has easy parking right across the street. Easy check-in, good breakfast, and a nice bar right across the street. The hotel is also close to the main street, so walking there was very easy.
